Bolt of Steel!

Once again here is another finished Illustrator project for my DMA 101 class. I spent at least 9 hours working on this picture of Bolt. I had some problems with the black outlining for my first copy of the picture. But I restarted on the 25th of February at 8:13 pm and finished at 4:26 am. I only got 6.5 hours of sleep.

This picture was originally drawn by:

MysteryDemon

Check her sketches and drawings out. I found some of her work really awesome!

Enjoy!

Predators Sport Logo - DMA 101

Nothing big or fancy but here's a Sport logo I drew in Illustrator using a reference image for my DMA 101 class. It took 3 hours of time total to draw and colour this big ugly thing!

Honestly... It isn't ugly

Enjoy!

Megalodon Tooth! "Whats a Megalodon?"

I received a major assignment for DMA 179. It involves researching and creating poster mock ups for a new exhibit (Not a real one) at the ROM and to design a Megalodon Tooth using a Coat Hanger, Wire, Tin Foil, Super Sculpey and an Oven!

------------------------------------------------------
Clay Megaldon tooth
1.Must be made to scale of a real Megaldon tooth
2.The model should show all details one would find with a real fossilized Megaldon tooth
3.Final model should be created with a ceramic-like modeling compound that can be harden in a standard home oven – super sculptey® is the suggested sculptured medium
4.It is strongly suggested that you may require the building of a wire armature and tinfoil base.
5.Must be painted so it resembles a real fossilized Megaldon tooth.
6.You will be required to photograph your product asset as the source model for this engagement.
------------------------------------------------------

Here are some progress pictures of me creating my tooth!

Shreks on my Mind Map!

Heres a mind map I had to do for class. It's basically just one main idea (Forest) branching out. This is what I got with the help of my family, friends and Melissa <3

Some of the picture got cut off off by my scanner! Maybe 9 x 12 paper is not the best choice :(

Enjoy reading my scribble of thoughts!

Copying Derrick Hodgson, Not!

Alright so I got a small exercise to research Derrick Hodgson for my Sketching For Communications class. We had to search and look for his drawing styles/techniques and draw 2 pictures with similar aspects (Not copying his work). I did find one of his Blogs - http://www.madreal.com/ - and all of his drawings have the same similar characters. I decided to draw a bunch of random looking characters to show a similar style to what Hodgson draws.

My first picture doesn't look that good with the colouring. I was wanting to shade but it ended up turning into basic colouring. Plus my scanner doesn't pick up light colours to well. Anyways, basic character drawings that I was working on.

My second picture looks a lot better with no colour. I actually drew this in 20 minutes minus distractions. Nothing to hard but still following Hodgsons style. Small characters with no detail. I added them into space to make it look some what interesting. If anyone has anything to suggest for touch ups or edits, please let me know.

Thanks!
